A Basic Glossary of ID - For those who are not acquainted with Instructional Design
ADDIE: Acronym for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluate
ADDIE describes the Instructional Design process from start to finish.
AICC - Aviation Industry Computer-based Training Committee, the standard guidelines agency for the aviation industry.
Instructional Technology: According to the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Definitions and Terminology Committee, is "the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning,".
SCORM - Sharable Content Object Reference Model (Scorm), is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based e-learning. It defines communications between client side content and a host system called the run-time environment (commonly a function of a learning management system). SCORM also defines how content may be packaged into a transferable ZIP file.
SCORM is a specification of the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative, which comes out of the Office of the United States Secretary of Defense.
E-learning in churches is crucial to an on-going understanding of the communication of faith in today's world. Literally hundreds of thousands of viewpoints and opinions are available online today. By creating simple online courses, a church web site can introduce new believers to basic beliefs, provide training programs for congregants, and give accredited distance learning training to future leaders.
